Bitcoin mining is not useful and it’s just a waste of resources.. While yesterday the largest European telecom announced it will start mining Bitcoin using surplus energy 🇩🇪 Deutsche Telekom's latest move shows how companies can turn wasted energy into value. Some points about the Bitcoin mining opportunity: • Convert unused energy to a valuable investment • Zero additional energy cost • New revenue from existing infrastructure Smart business is about maximizing resources. Zee Germans are Selling Bitcoin! Should you? New post out! https://bit.ly/4eSe4GA #BTC #ETH #SOL #LINK #crypto Nein, Nein, NEIN! Bitcoin is down on a classic low volume bear raid over a U.S. shortened trading hours + holiday twofer. The reason? Zee Germans! Yes, the German government has sold over $434 million worth of Bitcoin and has around $2.4 billion to go (in theory). Oh, and the Mt. Gox receiver is distributing all the cryptocurrencies back to the former clients. Could this really be the end? If the Germans hit the tape with 42,274 Bitcoin all at once, the price will nuke. Same if all the Mt. Gox clients sell all their holdings at the exact same time. None of that will happen. We’re still in a bull market, in my opinion. The charts look awful, but fundamentals continue to fall into place. To wit, the EU just set the stage for regulated stablecoins.

#Bitcoin alongside #gold as a Swiss monetary reserve? This intriguing initiative, spearheaded by Yves, has everyone talking about BTC—and it’s a brilliant #marketing move 👏 In Switzerland, anyone can propose an amendment to the Federal Constitution. However, to avoid random initiatives, proponents must gather 100,000 valid signatures within 18 months before triggering a popular vote. For context, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) is currently required to hold gold reserves, though it determines the proportion. My take: Even if the campaign manages to collect 100,000 signatures, I’m skeptical about its chances of securing the required double majority—approval from both the population and the cantons. Let’s face it, most people don’t even fully understand what #blockchain technology is. Moreover, Bitcoin’s volatility, its concentrated ownership (10,000 people control over 60%), and the looming uncertainties surrounding quantum computing’s impact raise significant questions about its long-term viability. That said, the SNB already has indirect exposure to the crypto space through various equity investments. If prices skyrocket for some reason, the Bank won’t be left out. Gold, on the other hand, is simple, tangible, and has stood the test of time. It’ll likely still hold value 1,000 years from now, long after Bitcoin, Fartcoin, and Dogecoin become footnotes in history (assuming humans are still relevant by then) 👀 What’s your opinion? The kick-off of the World Venture Forum 2024 was a complete success. At the picturesque Tomschy Alm, 6 excellent speakers talked about Crypto ETFs and how they are driving the acceptance and spread of blockchain technology. The whole event was rounded off with delicious food and plenty of networking opportunities. Google’s Quantum Chip ⚔️ #Bitcoin Encryption Google’s new #quantum chip, Willow (105 qubits), just solved a problem in 5 minutes that would take traditional computers 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years 🤯 Should Bitcoiners panic? ❌ Short Answer: No. Or... not yet But let’s be real. The only certainty in tech is that #compute increases exponentially. The question isn’t if quantum computing will threaten Bitcoin. It’s when. Bitcoin relies on ECDSA 256 and SHA-256. Both are theoretically vulnerable to quantum computing. Breaking Bitcoin would need 13M qubits to crack within a day. Fewer qubits are possible, but only if you’re willing to take much longer. 👉 But here’s the kicker: Satoshi’s wallet. The public key is already on the blockchain, eliminating a major step for hackers. One crack—and Bitcoin's trust could crumble... 😶‍🌫️

Scarcity Breeds Value Bitcoin Suisse AG has published a #report for the #wealth #management sector shedding light on the world of digital assets. 💡 Many factors contribute to #Bitcoin’s remarkable performance. One key differentiator lies in its finite supply. This scarcity mirrors the appeal of precious metals like #gold. 💡 Both Bitcoin and gold are sensitive to expansionary and contractionary monetary policy. Over the long term, both assets appreciate in inflationary environments. 💡 Bitcoin resides at a mere 8% of gold’s market capitalization of $15.8 trillion, hence market capitalization parity would already yield a Bitcoin price of $825'000 at current supply levels. 💡 BTC ETF inflows of only one quarter outpaced gold ETF inflows of the first ~3 years, growing at twelve times the rate of GLD’s launch flows. ✅ In conclusion, while gold offers stability and tangibility, bitcoin provides advantages such as being permissionless, easily divisible, portable, and transparent through its digital infrastructure. Ulbricht has served 11 years of his sentence of two life terms plus 40 years for creating the darknet marketplace.   📌 European Central Bank (ECB) members Olli Rehn and Philip Lane signaled a likely interest rate cut next week.
